Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in becoming an Ozone House volunteer! Ozone House volunteers are an integral part of our team. Whether you are interested in crisis intervention, or just want to help out around the house, we will try to work with you to develop a volunteer opportunity that will match your skills and interests.

Below are the most common types of volunteers at Ozone House. If you would like to help out in some other way, please feel free to contact Michelle Jones.

Project Volunteer

Can't make the Crisis Counselor time commitment (see below) but have a talent to share? Perhaps you're a professional painter or a landscape designer. We are often looking for volunteers to share their expertise for time-limited house projects. If you have the time, talent, and energy contact Christine Krezel to discuss potential opportunities!

Youth Making an Impact (YMI)

YMI is a youth volunteer group organized through Ozone House. Tell me more about YMI!

Volunteer Groups

If your school or organization would like to get involved in the community, we encourage you to visit our Coordinate your Own "Drive" page. In addition, occasionally there are larger scale projects for groups to participate in. When group projects become available, they will be posted on this page. Thank you!

Ozone Bowl Volunteer

Volunteers are needed for a variety of things, with commitment levels ranging from a few hours to a few months, starting in November of 2007. If you are interested in helping to make the 2008 Ozone Bowl a huge success, then WE NEED YOU! Contact Tamika Lofton to get started today!

Crisis Line Counselor

Ozone House Youth and Family Services is always seeking non-judgmental volunteers to become crisis line counselors. Crisis counselors provide information, referrals, and crisis intervention to high-risk youth and families struggling with such issues as: family conflict, runaway episodes, homelessness, suicide, abuse and neglect, domestic violence, sexual orientation and gender identity, and other crises.

Crisis Line Counselors complete a 40-hour training on two Wednesday evenings and two consecutive weekends. Once completed, volunteers commit to one 4-hour shift per week for 5+ months.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Michelle Jones at 734.662.2265 or mwhite@ozonehouse.org. Thank you.
